Evans & Evans conducts hundreds of professional written valuations for private and public companies, funds, and institutions every year.
Similar to the field of financial statements (i.e., compiled, reviewed and audited), valuation documents can be done to different levels.
The introductory level is a Valuation Calculation. This work is a short-form analysis and professional document that provides clients with an internal report that gives them an initial assessment of value and all of the issues related to such work. It is a lower cost, practical solution for firms and management teams that want to get a sense of value before incurring larger fees and costs.
The second level of fair market value work is the Valuation Memorandum. The Valuation Memorandum provides a more detailed level of valuation work than the Valuation Calculation and can often form the basis of formal bids and offers for companies, can be used for specific corporate and inter-corporate tax planning and supporting value assessments, for tangible and intangible asset assessments and for capital and other asset appraisals.
The final level of work is the Valuation Opinion. This work provides the complete level of work needed to be submitted to formal regulatory agencies, financial institutions, government bodies and courts for complete reliance on them. They involve massive review and due diligence as well as thorough qualitative and quantitative reviews of situations and projects.
With a group of Chartered Business Valuators (CBV) in-house, Evans & Evans has the expertise to undertake any of the above assignments in a timely fashion.
